NYSOEA has been a leader in outdoor and environmental education since 1968.
Now at an ever increasing pace, outdoor learning and environmental education has become cutting-edge pedagogy as more and more people are connecting or reconnecting with the natural world. As educators, we appreciate the importance of outdoor activity. In a very short time, author Richard Louv and the Children and Nature Network (C&NN), the organization inspired by his 2005 Last Child in the Woods book, is reversing the “Nature-deficit disorder” epidemic. Hundreds of grass roots groups nationwide are rediscovering the outdoors, and NYSOEA supports and furthers this endeavor across New York State.
NYSOEA members are both reaping the benefits of, and contributing to this exciting new momentum movement despite the inevitable slowdown in outdoor education during economic declines.
We need your participation as NYSOEA moves forward in the challenging years ahead.

Fine idea George, thank you. The Communications Committee just decided that we’ll be placing logos of the affiliates next to their listing on the affiliates page. We may find a location on the main page to place a featured affiliate when the page loads.
Where can I download a membership application for NYSOEA? Somehow I cannot seem to access it via this site
Terry
Hi Terry,
The membership brochure is now linked at the end of the letter above. Right now it is in the form of a pdf form. We will soon be hosting a web form supported with ability to accept payments online.
