Rogers Environmental Education Center celebrated winter with its 32nd annual Winter Living Celebration on January 9, 2010. Approximately 750 visitors enjoyed participating in many activities throughout the day. Visitors were able to ride horse-drawn sleighs, cut a tree cookie with a cross cut saw, listen to music and stories, observe a winter camping demonstration, and talk with exhibitors about winter recreation opportunities. Kids were able to tie a fly for fishing, try to sit still as a human bird feeder, and touch the furs and skulls of common New York State mammals. Many smiling faces were seen throughout the day. More than 100 people devoted their time and energy to make it happen.

Rogers Center staff extends a big thank you to all the volunteers and exhibitors who participated and helped to make the day a great one. A very special thanks goes to all the community sponsors who made financial contributions and donated services or publicity to the Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center. This generosity allows us to hold the celebration each year and keep it free for the public. Mark your calendar for the 33rd annual Winter Living Celebration on Saturday, January 8, 2011.
