Maple TreeHow do you turn the sweet sap of our official state tree, the sugar maple, into yummy syrup? And how much sap does it take to make a gallon of this liquid gold? Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne invites you to learn about maple sugaring on Saturday, February 20 from 10:00 AM to Noon. It*s something that almost anyone can do, with some time, energy and a sweet tooth. Learn which tools you need and the process to produce syrup on a small scale at a backyard sugaring operation. Families and individuals welcome. Registration is required. Please call Rogers Center to register at 607-674-4017. Meet in Rogers Centers main parking lot to carpool to the site. Wear boots and dress to be outdoors. Free.
