Ashokan’s Earth Day Open House

The Ashokan Center invites you to celebrate Ashokan’s Earth Day Open House on our magical 374 acres of meadows, woodlands, and waterfalls, 19th century barnyard, and meandering trails across the historic Turnwood Covered Bridge and along the Esopus Gorge.
  • Early morning birdwalk (6:30 am)
  • Songs of the Earth and Maypole with Nancy Chusid
  • River of Words poetry and Earth Day nature walk with Richard Parisio
  • Forest ecology and tree ramble with Andy Angstrom in honor of Arbor Day
  • Walking tours of Ashokan’s trails with Ashokan’s own Brian Joyner and Deborah DeWan
  • Learn about our new building project and the “greening of Ashokan”
  • Earthstompin’ music with Jay Ungar & Molly Mason
