Honeywell and Audubon invite you to plunge into an ecosystem exploration of the Onondaga Lake watershed. The Honeywell Institute for Ecosystems Education program uses inquiry-based outdoor field studies to support classroom science curriculum. Get hands-on experience to help strengthen students’ critical, analytical and creative thinking skills through your own discoveries in watershed dynamics, habitat health and the Onondaga Lake Important Bird Area.
Honeywell will give 15 teachers a scholarship package that includes:
- Tuition for one-week summer institute
- Opportunity to earn 30 hours of professional development credit
- Classroom resource materials
- Exploratory field trips
- Monetary stipend for program completion
- Eligibility for a sponsored class field trip
- The program curriculum supports New York Mathematics, Science
- Technology Learning Standards 1, 2, 4 & 7
