I am planning many wonderful things for my kindergaten and first grade class. I just found out if i don’t have a 501c I can not get grants. Public schools do not have 501c’s
Please help!
Some schools have “Friends of” groups or PTA/PTOs with 501c3 statuses. There are some grants that are specifically for schools, or for both schools or non-profits. I recommend registering on as many listservs as you can: Foundation Center, Scholastic Grants and Giveaways for teachers, and do internet searches based on category [i.e., Field Trips]… for the type of funding you are looking for, a lot of your local big-box department stores [i.e., Target, Kohl's] may provide that sort of funding… the S&S catalog also offers a free grants search for schools/NFPs. I hope this is helpful.
