Registration is required for all programs. All programs take place in the Nature Center and are free for members and $5 for nonmembers (plus materials fee, if applicable), unless noted.

When applicable, all programs must be paid for at the time of booking. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, or you can pay in person with cash or check.

No refund will be granted less than two weeks prior to the program date. People withdrawing prior to this deadline will receive a 75% refund (less 25% administrative costs).

STARLIGHT STARBRIGHT

ALL WELCOME. Hike to Hidden Valley Field to view the night sky. Clouds and rain cancels. Not suitable for children under six.

Saturday, March 12, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR’S WORKSHOP

ADULTS ONLY. Are you interested in helping injured or orphaned wildlife? Led by licensed wildlife rehabilitators, this workshop will focus on the different aspects of working with wildlife, teach you how to respond appropriately, and detail what’s involved in becoming a wildlife rehabilitator in New York State. Please bring lunch. Fee: M$15; NM $20

ANIMAL ADVENTURES – RAPTORS!

CHILDREN. Meet a few of Teatown’s ambassador animals in this program featuring local raptors.

MOSS AND LICHENS

ALL WELCOME. These primitive plants are often overlooked and misunderstood. Find out what role each play in the ecosystem and learn how to identify local species.

FINDING YOUR WAY

ALL WELCOME. Getting lost is not an option in this program which combines basic compass and map reading skills to help you better navigate in the woods. Be prepared for both indoor and outdoor activities. Bring a snack and water Fee: M$10, NM$15

BIRDING FOR BLUEBIRDS

ALL WELCOME. Join Charlie Roberto on this walk to locate bluebirds, NY’s state bird, and learn about their resurgence. FREE

MARCH MAPLE MADNESS!

Join us for a month-long celebration of everything maple! Rent-a-bucket, visit Warren’s sugar house, and join family, friends and neighbors at our annual Pancake Brunch.

RENT-A-BUCKET

Love maple syrup? Buy a bucket of your own! Each February we tap our very own maple trees and hang a sap bucket with your name on it. After filling the bucket, the sap gets turned into syrup in Warren’s Sugar House. The fee includes two tickets to the Pancake Brunch and an 8-ounce bottle of our award-winning grade A pure maple syrup. Call the Nature Center to purchase a bucket. Fee: $40

Sundays, March 6, March 13, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm SUGARING SUNDAYS

ALL WELCOME. Stoke up the fire, it’s sugaring time at Teatown! From tapping to collecting, boiling to bottling, Teatown’s naturalists will be in Warren’s sugarhouse sharing facts and folklore about this sweet time of year!

PANCAKE BRUNCH

ALL WELCOME. Bring your appetite to Teatown’s tastiest annual tradition – the Pancake Brunch! Start your day off with stacks of hotcakes smothered in maple syrup, hot coffee and sausages, and more. Then visit the sugarhouse to watch a demonstration about how our ‘liquid gold’ is produced.

Fee: Adults M$10 NM$12; Children under 12 years M$5 NM$7

(seating is limited so reservations are suggested)

BIRDS AND SYRUP

ALL WELCOME. Following your brunch, join us for a walk around Teatown Lake to digest the pancakes and look for spring migrants. Free.
