Winter Weekend

February 25th & 26th, 2012

The Ashokan Center
Olivebridge, NY

 

For almost two decades, Ashokan (with the help of NYSOEA) has hosted this annual gathering for outdoor educators resulting in friendships and education experiences that have spanned the years.  Now, for the first time, it is entirely in the hands of NYSOEA to keep it going for the future.

Pricing:
•Saturday (Day use only):  $13.00
•Saturday – Day use and Lunch:  $32.00
•Saturday – Day use/Lunch/Dinner:  $60.00
•Saturday – Day use/Lunch/Dinner/Breakfast Sunday:  $80.00
•Full Weekend – includes beverages Friday night/Saturday breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Sunday Breakfast:  $120.00

Casual Friday– Play it out from 7:30pm if we have access to the tin shop/broom making etc.
Saturday

Workshop 2              10:45-12:15pm

  •     General interpretive walk, Andy Angstrom
  •     Dragon Tracking 101, Brian Joyner

Lunch                   12:30
Workshop 3              1:30-3:00

  •     Bone Making: working edges for tools of all kinds, Jared Kapsiak
  •     Animal Tracks and Traces, George Steele

Workshop 4              3:15-4:45

  •     Debriefing Outdoor & Adventure Education Programs: Ensuring the Learning Happens, Ekaterini Vlamis
  •     Backyard Archeology, Andy Angstrom

Dinner                  5:30
Evening Activities      7:00pm

Sunday
Breakfast                 8:30am
Cabin Checkout            10:30
Workshop 5              9:00-10:30
