Seasonal Environmental Educator

The Seasonal Environmental Educator (SEE) position is a 37.5 hour/week, Tuesday – Saturday, 27 week position. The SEE assists the Lead Educator (LE) and the education department with implementing a comprehensive education outreach program for the Albany Pine Bush compatible with the ecological resources and management goals of the Preserve. The education outreach program is based out of the Discovery Center and increases Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission (APBPC) visibility and image while advancing the APBPC’s overall strategic development. The primary responsibility of the SEE is to lead Pine Bush-centered interactive and hands-on education programs for a diversity of audiences including school groups from grades pre-K – university level, special interest groups and the general public. The SEE will also participate in the creation and planning of education programs. Education programs will be based at the Discovery Center and may take place in the classrooms, exhibit space, or on the trails of the Pine Bush Preserve or at local venues throughout the region including local schools. Interpretation of Discovery Center exhibits to the visiting public is also a responsibility of the SEE. The SEE is supervised by the Lead Educator.
