Leave your flashlight behind and let the full moon lead the way. Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne invites you to an evening snowshoe walk on Friday, February 26 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Listen for owls, marvel at February*s *Snow Moon* and enjoy the quiet of a winter evening walk with Rogers staff as your guide. The lunar glow reflected on snow is usually bright enough to see the landscape around you and the sky is often quite clear and beautiful. Why not come out and look around? Snowshoes will be provided or bring your own. If there is not enough snow, walk will be on foot. Please call Rogers Center at 607-674-4017 x 623 to register and for details. Rogers Center is operated by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. The not-for-profit Friends of Rogers, Inc. helps support the Center*s programs and special events. Rogers Center is located one mile west of Sherburne on Route 80. It is 45 minutes south of Utica via Route 12, one hour north of Binghamton via Route 12, and 75 minutes southeast of Syracuse via Routes 20 east and 12 south. Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne invites you to an evening snowshoe walk on Saturday, January 30 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Observing nature at night by the light of a full moon can be quite fun. The lunar glow is usually bright enough to see the landscape around you and the sky is often quite clear and beautiful. It is the perfect time to join Rogers Center staff for an enjoyable walk on snowshoes to look and listen for owls, learn about nocturnal wildlife, and view the full Wolf Moon of January.
